Day 25....THE HALF WAY POINT. We are officially 1/2 way to the Atlantic. Today started with a cross wind that made everyone remain focused on the road ahead. The road conditions surprised everyone as we had been told about the "new chip seal" sectioned of road after the first sag. It was the smoothest section of road we had been on in the last few days. But, what would a ride across the country be if we didn't have to turn INTO the wind for the last 60 plus miles of our ride. The trick with a strong 12-19mph headwind....don't fight it. Relax your shoulders, put your head down and just pedal. Speed isn't going to be in your favor but....you will chip away at the miles and eventually you get to the awesome downhill that takes you into downtown Chamberlain. After a long day of riding we usually hit the DQ but there is no DQ in Chamberlain so McDonald's McFlurry will have to do.... Enjoy the pictures.
