Day 33....LaCross WI to Wisconsin Dells. Doug and I wanted to make it a memorable ride, so when in Rome...When in cheese head country....You need to wear a cheese head. This day of 91 miles of cycling would take us on the Sparta rail trail. This was 30 plus miles of loose grave and some really cool tunnels. The rail trail was difficult because of the gravel. 30 miles usually takes about 2 hrs but today it took all of us a lot longer. Sadly at the completion of the rail trail we still had another 30 plus miles of "hills" to transverse before we could all call it a day. Everyone was tired by the time we got to the hotel. Than to get there and find out that the internet and cell reception was less than good. Wisconsin Dells is the amusement park of Wisconsin....lots of tourists....they did however have the first dunkin donuts that I have seen since June 14th. Yep, I am in need of a coffee. One thing I have noticed since we crossed the Mississippi River, anyone of these small towns could be on the east coast. West of the Mississippi the towns still have a Native American feel. EVERY town we have biked through has American flags flying on every other telephone pole down main street and most of the homes and farms have a flag pole on the front lawn. The American pride is very moving.
Yep, New England Pats fan in a cheese head

the people on the ride loved it
